Perceiving Happiness... It's Your Choice.

It amazes me to see so many different 'levels' of society. In my travels and daily life I have had the opportunity to experience high class with weekends spent at a condo on a private golf course in Palm Springs, CA. Tasting the fine dining 7 course meals complete with the cocktail dress and high class etiquette. I experienced the other end, too. I was technically homeless for a while living in my 1973 motor home, parking wherever I could, with no amenities except for what I had available to me on the college campus. And I have also had the opportunities to be a part of society on the levels found in between and sometimes paralleled experiences.

It's the Simple Things...

It is just a matter of opinion and preference to which life style is best. Me personally, I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl with bare feet or flip-flops. The high life was fun to do but it was a lot of work to keep up the clean appearance and remembering which fork is for what ;-) It's the simple things I find are the most enjoyable.

When I was 11 years old, living in the Philippines with my Missionary family. We traveled to a small village out in-the-middle-of-nowhere. The sky was wide open except for the scattered huts and a few trees. The bathroom.. haha, just a small hut with a whole in the ground. A small stream was nearby for washing up. The golden grassy land is what I remember most; running as fast as I can for as far as I can. All the children in the village ran with us, my sister and brother were there, too. We all played in those grassy fields during the day and by nightfall it was a party around the bonfire with everyone laughing, singing and dancing. Followed by the best nights sleep I ever had... on a hard wood bed with nothing but a woven mat.

One of my happiest memories comes from a foreign country. We were different than the people who lived there and we were also very much the same. We were all there that day for the same purpose.. to celebrate Life.

The Common Goal...

Being able to be a part of society on so many different levels has taught me how to connect on a personal level with just about anyone. Everyone pretty much wants the same thing.. Love and Joy. We all might have different perceptions to what that is exactly but it's a common goal.

It doesn't matter where you are from, how much money you have, the religion you chose, your sexual preference, the language you speak or the color of your skin. What matters is that we come together to reach that common goal. Happiness is all around you. It is how you perceive your world and how you react is your choice.

Break Your Pattern... Wake up Your Mind!

I watch people all the time get stuck in a routine. After a while, it catches up to them. Either boredom sets in or it's complete exhaustion. The boredom is the worst. Your mind begins to numb as you routinely go through your day. Let me ask you this.. When was the last time you broke your pattern? I know you have responsibilities that you must take care of, but I am talking about those little things. Those little moments that create your life.

Wake Up Your Mind!

The best way to wake your mind up is to break your pattern. What I mean is if you normally go out every evening, stay home for the night. If you normally watch movies, pick up a book and release your imagination. Go explore and learn something new.. or do something you haven't done in a very long time.

I recently took a chance and jumped on an opportunity, an invite to a small outdoor concert; not something I normally do. Not only did I make a new friend and thoroughly enjoy the high energy of dancing to The Bomb, a cover band with a Latin funk style, we ended up catching 2 other bands at 2 more locations. *Whew* what a night! I broke my pattern and did something I hadn't done in a very long time and I feel refreshed. =)

I invite you to break your own pattern. If you normally stay home, go out for the evening. If reading a book every night is your thing, change it up and watch a movie or play a game with friends. There are a number of possibilities that are available to you. The choice is yours if you are going to take the opportunities or let them slip by you. Consider this your *kick* to do something different and wake up your mind. ;)

Welcome to My World.. Where LIFE is Amazing!

Through the encouragement of a very dear friend, I have decided to join the trend of blogging. Oh boy, what am I going to write about ??? Well, if you know me at all or have subscribed to my facebook status updates, then you know that I am full of  humor, imagination, inspiration, love of life, encouragement, caring and just straight up honesty. I do not always have the graceful tact of being gentle, I tend to come off very bluntly. But I can promise you this... I will always be my true authentic self.

My Life in a Nutshell...

In less than 40 years of this lifetime I have moved 40 times (moving defined as pack up all belongings and relocating to a new address). Three times I have moved 3 times in the same year. I have lived in a house, apartment, dormitory, mobile home, recreational vehicle, studio, garage and shed. I have lived in the United States and the Philippines. I have been to Hawaii and 32 other states.  I have even been to Hong Kong (never left the airport though).

I have experienced society on so many levels it has taught me how to mix and mingle with any crowd. I am ADHD, TCK, PK, and INDIGO (Google 'indigo and crystal children' and see what you learn).  I am also an athlete, a teacher, a student, an artist, a wife (divorced now), a pug mama, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, a friend, and a guide.

In the moment...

I love to learn and try new things.. and I analyze everything. My mind never stops; always taking in information and putting the pieces of the puzzle together to make sense of it all. I love adventure and I take on life while laughing in the face of fear. (Ok, so I haven't been sky diving or climbed the bald face of a mountain but I have been cliff diving and bungee jumping). So in this blog, I will be sharing with you my wide range of knowledge and experiences about the one common thing we all share.. LIFE.
